Thursday night found Derek Groomer in action at Brownstown Speedway (Brownstown, Ind.) for the inaugural Donald Gardner Memorial. In a field of 17 cars, Groomer timed in fastest overall before picking up three spots in his heat to pick up the win. Charging from the second-starting position in the feature, Derek sailed to his eighth win of the season, which came ahead of Cole Falloway, Bill Lewis, Jacoby Hines, and Ryan Thomas.
The following night at Circle City Raceway (Indianapolis, Ind.) for the Renegades of Dirt Modified event, Derek posted a fifth-place finish in his heat, which positioned him fifth on the starting grid for the main event. Clawing forward two spots in the 25-lap affair, Groomer notched a third-place finish.
With Saturday’s scheduled stop at Paragon Speedway (Paragon, Ind.) rained out, Groomer returned to Brownstown for the Paul Crockett Memorial. Following a runner-up finish in his heat, Derek notched a third-place finish in the feature. He followed Jordan Wever and Ryan Thomas across the line with Brent Lee and Brayden Watson rounding out the Top-5.
