Groomer makes 2023 Late Model debut at Brownstown
Derek Groomer made his first Super Late Model start of the season on Saturday afternoon at Brownstown Speedway (Brownstown, Ind.) for the inaugural Ira Bastain Memorial.
Drawing a stout field of 54 cars as the Northern Allstars Late Model Series returned to competition, Groomer recorded a 10th-place finish in his heat, relegating him into one of two consolation races for another shot at the $6,000-to-win A-Main. Needing to place second or better, Derek fell short with an eighth-place outing.
