Derek Groomer nets second win of 2023 at Lincoln Park
Friday found Derek Groomer in action at Bloomington Speedway (Bloomington, Ind.) competing in the Modified ranks for the regular night of racing.
Despite passing two cars in his heat race to finish fourth, Groomer was an early retiree from the feature on lap 10 due to rough track conditions.
On Saturday afternoon at Lincoln Park Speedway (Putnamville, Ind.), Derek followed up the fastest lap in his time trial group with a second-to-first showing in his heat. Stealing the lead from Richie Lex on the 10th circuit of the feature, Groomer soared to his second win of the season in the 20-lapper. He finished ahead of Jake Leitzman, Lex, Sydney Landes, and Jerry Bland Jr.
