Derek Groomer takes $1,500 in Salute to Denny Campbell at Bloomington Speedway

Driving a Sasser-owned No. 179 Super Stock on Friday evening, Derek Groomer checked into Bloomington (Ind.) Speedway for the Salute to Denny Campbell.

Winning his heat race, Groomer started on the pole of the 27-lap special and led wire-to-wire to take home the $1,500 paycheck over Lee Hobbs and Troy Clark.

Derek then pulled out his Super Late Model for the MARS Late Model Championship Series show at Red Hill Raceway (Sumner, Ill.) on Saturday where he would finish 16th in the $5,000-to-win feature.
