Top-10 finish in season opener at Florence Speedway
Starting his 2024 season in the Crate Late Model ranks, Derek Groomer traveled to Florence Speedway (Union, Ky.) over the weekend for Saturday’s 48th annual Spring 50.
Aboard the Millikan Smiles No. D48 Late Model entry, Groomer’s fifth-place outing in his heat race pinned him on the seventh row for the main event. Chasing the $1,000 top prize, Derek climbed four positions in the 20-lap affair to register a 10th-place finish.
